(September 2, 2016, Shanghai) Recently, the launching ceremony of the 106-meter ro-ro passenger ship “Tongyang 66” for which Hilong provided overall anti-fouling and anti-corrosion coatings was held at the shipyard - Fujian Funing Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. This is Hilong Coating’s first successful application in the whole new shipbuilding and marks Hilong Coating’s official launch into the new building market.
In consideration of green, eco-friendly and convenient application of shipyard, Hilong provided high-build universal epoxy primer HilonUprimer 3100 for all major parts of the ship, such as ballast tanks, void tanks, and ship hull and high-performance solvent-free epoxy HilonTC 3000H for freshwater tanks. In this way, the emissions of volatile organic compound (VOC) was greatly reduces.
“The shipowner and shipyard have unanimous praise for Hilong's overall coating solution and have spoken highly of Hilong’s coating products and services," said Ren Weidong, Vice President of Hilong Group and General Manager of Hilong New Materials BU. Meanwhile, he also noted that the same type of 106-meter ro-ro passenger ship being built by Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding Co.ltd would also use Hilong’s overall anti-corrosion and anti-fouling solutions and coatings. This new ship is slated to begin block application next week.
